いつもなら、心の中で「うざいやつ」といいながら無視を決め込むものの、男の着こなしと紳士な雰囲気が気になり、相手と視線を絡めてしまった。そして何より、男が発したカバが気になり、反応してしまった。

「カバ？」

男はニヤっと笑い、「動物園にいるだろ？」。

私は心の中で「ん？　何言ってんの？　この人バカ？」と呆然。

男は軽い調子で続ける。
